This Privacy Policy applies to the DocsFamily application and related services (collectively “DocsFamily” or “the App”) operated by ThinkOutsideTheBox LLC (“Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), a Florida-based company.

We are deeply committed to protecting your privacy and the security of your family documents. We do not sell, rent, trade, share, or monetize your personal data or documents in any way. Your data belongs to you and stays under your control.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum data necessary:

Account information (email address and hashed password) if you create an account.
Basic technical information (device type, OS version, app version) required for cross-platform functionality (iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, Linux, Web).
Strictly anonymized usage statistics to improve performance and stability.

We do not collect location data, contacts, camera/microphone access (unless explicitly granted for a feature), or any document content beyond what you voluntarily store in the App.

2. How We Use Information

Your information is used solely to:

Provide, maintain, secure, and improve DocsFamily
Enable secure family document storage and sharing
Respond to your support or account requests

3. Sharing and Disclosure

We never share, disclose, or sell any personal data or family documents to third parties for advertising, marketing, or commercial purposes.
Limited exceptions:

Trusted service providers (e.g., secure cloud hosting) bound by strict data processing agreements and confidentiality obligations.
Legal obligations, court orders, or government requests (we will notify you to the maximum extent permitted by law).

4. Data Security and Encryption

Privacy by Design and strong encryption are at the core of DocsFamily. We implement the following measures:

Local device encryption: All documents are encrypted directly on your device using strong industry-standard algorithms (AES-256 or equivalent) before any storage or synchronization.
End-to-end encryption: Any sharing between family members uses end-to-end encryption — only the intended recipients can decrypt the content.
Zero-knowledge principles: In applicable features, even ThinkOutsideTheBox LLC cannot access your unencrypted documents or data.
Data in transit protected by TLS 1.3 and secure protocols.
Passwords are never stored in plain text (only salted and hashed).
Strict access controls: Only the Company’s authorized personnel (limited to essential maintenance) may access systems, and all access is logged and audited.
Regular security audits, penetration testing, and adherence to modern best practices.

We continuously monitor and improve our security posture to protect your family’s sensitive information.

5. Cookies and Tracking

We use only strictly necessary technical cookies or local storage for app functionality and security. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics that profile users.

We retain your data only as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, or resolve disputes.

DocsFamily is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Since our primary operations are in the United States, any data transfers comply with applicable data protection laws and are protected by appropriate safeguards.

10. Changes to This Policy

We will notify you of any material changes via the App and/or email. Continued use after notification constitutes acceptance.
